VI Assessments

Prior to the assessment we will contact the individual to ascertain what equipment (if any) they are already using so we can ensure we take the right selection of demo units for their requirements. This assessment will take into account the most recent diagnosis, including the likely stability of the visual impairment in the short term and the medium term.

The assessment will involve looking at the individual’s ability to access text in both printed and electronic formats, and a demonstration of various software packages including magnification and screen reading products.

Consideration is also given to the type of work undertaken, including accessible methods of communication, with special attention to the software packages that need to be accessed on a daily basis.

The final written report will provide recommendations on the suitability of current equipment, and whether any adjustments need to be made prior to the main support package being installed.

Finally, in order for the person to take full advantage of the equipment, and to achieve their own working objectives, a suitable amount of training will be recommended. Contact us for further information.
