Ergonomic Assessments

In conjunction with our workplace division and consultancy service, Barry Bennett are proud to offer an ergonomic workstation assessment service for DSA students, on referral from their DSA Assessor.

On receipt of an assessment request, our Assessor will contact the student to arrange an appointment to visit them in their home or place of study at their earliest convenience. There is no charge for this service and requests will be scheduled through our Consultancy division.

The assessment itself will look holistically at their working environment to provide additional ergonomic support where necessary. Whether it’s to address a pre-existing condition, to enhance or update existing equipment, or to help prevent conditions associated with sitting for long periods, we can recommend a solution to suit their needs and provide advice and guidance at the point of assessment.

Our Assessors have access to the latest equipment, from ergonomic posture chairs, fixed and adjustable height desks, through to wrist rests and monitor / laptop risers. Samples of the equipment are used during the assessment to ensure correct fitting and suitability. On completion, the Assessor will compile a full written report highlighting any issues identified during the assessment, suitable adaptations, and products to improve the workspace. Ultimately, the aim is to enable the individual to work more comfortably and productively.

With almost forty years experience in sourcing and supplying office furniture and equipment, we are confident that our product range will encompass all ergonomic requirements. When the order has been approved, our fully trained installers will ensure that the equipment and / or furniture is correctly installed and the student is familiarised with the workings of all equipment provided. To request a workstation assessment for DSA funded student, or for further information regarding this service, please call: 01204 534 311 or click here Request Assessment to complete our online assessment form.

What DSA Assessors say about this service

"In the last few months we have been using Barry Bennett's Ergonomic Assessment service to assist us in ensuring that our DSA students get the correct equipment for their individual needs and environment. We have been impressed with the efficiency and professional service that is offered to both the student and Assessor. The new ergo assessment request form on the website has made it even easier and quicker for us to ensure that an assessment takes place as quickly as possible. This is of paramount importance to students who need their ergonomic equipment delivered with or before their other assistive technology"
DSA Assessor - South East

"Glyndŵr Assessment Centre, Wrexham have been working with Barry Bennett for the past year and we have found them to be extremely helpful and professional. We send out regular questionnaires to our students regarding the DSA process and comments related to the service received by Barry Bennett are always extremely positive. We have also worked with 'The Back Store' and the service here has also proved to be extremely professional with friendly, knowledgeable staff. Nothing ever seems to be too much trouble and queries are always dealt with in a timely and efficient manner".
Sarah Roberts - Assessment Centre Manager

"Having made use of the Barry Bennett’s Ergo Assessment service since its inception, I have always found it to be extremely helpful as an assessor. The online form is easy to work with, and the subsequent follow-up procedure with the student, keeps me informed appropriately. The advantages for this type of assessment to take place in the student's home ensures that the AON support is as accurate as possible, and staff are all too willing, when requested, to leave any items with the student for a two-week trial period. Equally, being able to discuss and liaise with staff ensures that the student receives the highest standard of support, in an area where clearly getting the right equipment first time is imperative, and can make a vast difference between comfort and discomfort".
