Spring Workshops - Intel-GE Care Innovations

The latest generation of the Intel-GE Care Innovations family of reading technologies has arrived. Achieve Tablet, Achieve for Windows or Mac, and Achieve Camera, along with the Intel Reader, make access to the world of knowledge easier than ever.

Whilst the Intel Reader is a portable device used to capture printed text, read DAISY books and convert/play MP3 files, allow for transfer of files to/from a computer, it doesn't have the ability to do anything else. The Achieve Tablet does all that plus as it’s on an Android tablet it allows users to access Internet, calendar, speech recognition, word prediction, talking web browser, email and a note taker. Users can also download other apps from the Android market place.

Care Innovations provides a free copy of the Achieve desktop software with every Achieve Tablet and Intel Reader purchased. This software enables quick and easy transfer of captured material and turns the users computer into a sophisticated DAISY reader with the ability to magnify text, change voices, change voice speed, set up personal settings and more!

In addition, Care Innovations are also bringing out Achieve Advanced Software for use inconjunction with the Achieve Camera. The Achieve Advanced Software has the same features as the desktop software along with; Native MathML support, HTML support, integrated SVG support, roaming profiles, bookmark creation and OCR enabling the user to capture bulk text very quickly and easily in conjunction with the Achieve Camera.

Achieve supports DAISY 2, 2.02, and 3; NIMAS 1:1; .txt; Learning Ally Audiobooks; and Bookshare digital books.
