The MindView Suite for DSA Students

What is NoteControl?
For many students referencing has become an increasingly arduous task. Furthermore, once online research has been completed students would often like to use a mind mapping tool to further organise and structure this work. NoteControl allows students to capture information both from online sources and quotations from books and journals. Students are then able to easily reference their sources thanks to our partnership with WorldCat, an online database with over 1.5 billion sources, which generates all the required information for referencing including publisher, date of publishing and page number of the reference. Students can export their research into MindView or directly into Microsoft Word using one of the Academic templates included in the software. When exporting to Microsoft Word a fully referenced bibliography is produced in a standardised reference style such as Harvard.

What is the MindView Suite?
The MindView Suite is a new solution from MatchWare for students eligible for DSA funding. The Suite, available only on PC at the moment, offers a full copy of MindView 4 BE and also a 4 year subscription to NoteControl. Students are able to carry out research online and then seamlessly transfer the information from NoteControl into MindView for further organising. All references will be carried into MindView and when exported MindView will also produce a full Bibliography in Microsoft Word.

What’s new in MindView?
Following the launch of NoteControl it is important students are able not only to add referencing information to MindView maps but also can change existing references from NoteControl. This ability to add references within MindView has been included in the latest service pack and is available to all users of MindView 4 BE.
