We are delighted to invite you to the Barry Bennett Ltd Spring Workshops 2026, and we are thrilled to be returning to Belfast for what promises to be another fantastic event!
As always, our CPD workshop day is completely free to attend and brings together leading suppliers of assistive technology hardware and software alongside professionals supporting SEN students in secondary and higher education.
The workshops will run from 9:45am to 5:00pm, and as a delegate you'll have the freedom to shape your own day by building a personalised timetable from our range of seminar-style presentations. Throughout the day there will be plenty of opportunity to explore supplier stands in the main exhibition hall, get hands-on with the latest and updated technology, and connect with colleagues in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
To round off the day, we'd love for you to join us for an optional evening networking event — a great chance to continue conversations in a sociable setting.
Refreshments, lunch, and food at the evening networking event are all included as part of your delegate experience.

What happens when you build assistive technology around the people who actually use it? In this hands-on session, you'll hear directly from disabled students about how Tailo has transformed the way they read, study, and succeed in higher education. We'll explore real student case studies before showcasing the latest Tailo features, including the brand new Google Chrome Extension and Enhanced OCR. If you support disabled students in higher education, this session will give you a practical, student-led insight into what modern reading support can look like.

Dissertations/Coursework can feel overwhelming, but the right tools can transform the process. In this session, we'll follow a student's journey from start to finish using Scholarcy to break down complex research into clear, digestible insights, MindView to organise ideas and build a structured plan, and Writing Helper to support the writing process with clarity and confidence. Together, these tools help reduce overwhelm, improve structure, and support students in producing high-quality academic work with greater independence.

Students with AuDHD can face challenges with focus, cognitive load, and managing multiple demands at university. In this session, we'll explore how text-to-speech (TTS) supports reading by reducing visual strain and improving focus, while Equatio helps students clearly express ideas, particularly when working with structured or technical content. We'll also introduce Global Tasks, showing how it can break work into manageable steps, support planning, and reduce the feeling of overwhelm. Together, these tools create a more structured, accessible approach to studying- helping students stay on track, maintain focus, and work more independently.

Join us as we explore the science of learning and delve into the recent research into the impact of AI. Finding the right tools for students with dyslexia, ADHD, and visual impairments has long been one of education's greatest accessibility challenges, and Speechify has transformed how those students learn. By allowing students to listen to textbooks, PDFs, articles, and virtually any content through their own mobile and desktop devices, with full compatibility across Windows and iOS, Speechify fits seamlessly into their daily lives. In addition to text-to-speech capabilities, Speechify also offers dictation tools that help students more easily organise and express their thoughts in writing. What sets Speechify apart is the quality of its natural-sounding voices, encouraging students to engage with the material entirely on their own terms.
